REGION — North County families have no shortage of Easter egg hunt events to enjoy this weekend, with several free city-sponsored scrambles at local parks. Read on for information about egg hunts taking place throughout North County.
CARLSBAD
EGGstravaganza Spring Festival
The annual spring festival returns on April 4 to Poinsettia Community Park at 6600 Hidden Valley Road. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the egg hunt portion beginning at 10:30 a.m. and lasting until 1:30 p.m. or until eggs run out. Other activities include face painting, crafts, cookie decorating, a fun zone, Soak the Bunny, and more. Activity cards and wristbands for participation can be purchased in advance. ENCINITAS
Encinitas Spring Egg Hunt
The city’s annual Spring Egg Hunt takes place April 4 at Encinitas Community Park, located at 425 Santa Fe Drive. There are three different hunts held at 10:15 a.m., 11 a.m., and 11:45 a.m. Hunts for ages 4 and under take place on the upper field, and hunts for ages 5 and up take place on the lower field. Families can enjoy live music from Kathryn the Grape, visits with the Easter bunny, and face painting. Parking is limited onsite, and a shuttle service will be available from San Dieguito Academy. OCEANSIDE
Spring Egg Hunt
The city of Oceanside will hold its annual Spring Egg Hunt on April 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Mance Buchanon Park at 425 College Boulevard. This is a free event for kids ages 11 and under. An egg hunt for ages 2 and under takes place at 9 a.m., followed by the main egg hunt for ages 3 to 11 at 10 a.m. An egg hunt for children with adaptive needs (parents allowed on the field) is at 10:15 a.m. There will also be photos with the Easter bunny, a magic show, and a bounce house. Lighthouse Easter Egg Hunt
Lighthouse Christian Church will hold a free Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon for kids ages 2 through fifth grade. Families can also enjoy jumpers, a cake hop, crafts, and snacks and refreshments available for purchase. SAN MARCOS
Spring Egg Scramble and Bunny Breakfast
Family fun returns to Walnut Grove Park on April 4 for the city’s annual egg scramble and carnival from 8 to 11:30 a.m. There will be six different egg scrambles starting at 10:15, divided by age group, including an accessible time slot. Families can also enjoy the carnival, various activities and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Families can also attend the Bunny Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at The Barn at Walnut Grove Park for $10 per person. Visit sanmarcosca.gov.

SOLANA BEACH
Children’s Spring Festival and Egg Hunt
La Colonia Park will host a free festival on April 4 at 10:30 a.m., with an egg hunt for children in third grade and below and other activities for all ages, including pictures with the Easter Bunny, crafts, refreshments, and piñatas. La Colonia Park is located at 715 Valley Avenue.

VISTA
Vista Easter Egg Hunt
Pride of Vista Lions Club and the city of Vista are holding the annual Easter egg hunt at Brengle Terrace Park on April 4 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The free event includes face painting, crafts and games, a DJ, a bike raffle, a bonnet contest, and more. The egg hunt is open to children ages 2 to 10, and takes place at 11 a.m. Brengle Terrace Park is located at 1266 Vale Terrace Drive.
