Carlsbad welcomes newest Henry’s location

CARLSBAD — Lines were out into the parking lot before the newest Henry’s Farmers Market at 2618 El Camino Road opened it doors at 8 a.m. Sept. 2.
To extend a hand to the community and celebrate its newest store, the Carlsbad location gave away a pre-selected shopping bag of free groceries to the first 200 people who arrived. That crowd was amplified by locals excited to have the fresh produce, bulk items and organic choices close to downtown Carlsbad.
“In these tough economic times, we were sure that would attract a good number of people who need some help,” said Janet Little, Henry’s Farmers Market’s nutritionist and spokesperson.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the public and executives from Henry’s, as well as local civic officials, all with official proclamations.
In addition, anyone whose first name was Henry was treated to a free deli sandwich that day. Shoppers were also able to register for two Health and Fitness Assessment Tests coming up. The stores hosts regular health events. Register in the Vitamin Department at Henry’s.
Little describes shopping at the friendly, neighborhood Henry’s Farmers Markets as “reminiscent of produce stands and corner butcher shops of the 1950s. We’re proud to support local California area farmers, fishermen and suppliers whenever possible,” Little said. “It promotes sustainability and enables us to offer our customers the freshest and most practically-priced products available.”
“Henry’s has also always been devoted to partnering with nonprofit organizations in the community,” she said. As a transitional store between farm and supermarket, Henry’s offers customers one of the largest full-service healthy-living departments around that includes nutritional and natural body care products to fit every lifestyle.
