Sometimes the most satisfying home improvement project is not replacing something. It is discovering how good what you already own can look again.
That is a reaction Jarrod Edwards hears frequently after finishing a job for JE Pressure Washing.
“Wow, I didn’t think it could look that good,” customers tell him. Or, even better: “It looks like new.”
Edwards, an Encinitas native, started JE Pressure Washing after years of working for other companies and deciding he wanted to build something of his own.
“I like helping people,” Edwards said. “I want to give people an awesome service at a great price. My motto is, ‘Quality service at a great price.’”
Today, Edwards provides pressure washing in Encinitas and throughout Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leucadia, La Costa, Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach.
His most common calls are for patio cleaning, walkways, house exteriors and pool deck cleaning. JE Pressure Washing can also clean fences, walls, windows, gutters, siding, patio furniture, trash cans and other exterior surfaces.
Edwards remembers one pool deck where years of buildup from nearby birds of paradise had left part of the surface covered in black residue.
“I was able to get it all off,” he said. “He was completely satisfied and said it looked like new.”
Years of buildup can disappear
North County’s coastal environment can be tough on outdoor surfaces.
Over time, dirt, grime, mildew, mold and salt buildup can accumulate so gradually that homeowners barely notice the difference. Professional pressure washing can remove years of buildup from many surfaces and restore much of their original appearance.
Not every stain can be removed. Heavy tar, some tree sap and staining beneath sealed surfaces can be difficult or impossible to eliminate. Edwards believes being upfront about those limitations is part of providing good service.
For many homeowners, however, the biggest obstacle is simply tackling the job.

“People don’t like getting wet and dirty, or they don’t have the time, equipment or knowledge,” Edwards said. “That’s where I come in.”
Pressure washing also requires more technique than some homeowners may realize. Excessive pressure or the wrong nozzle can damage certain surfaces, while the equipment itself can cause injury if handled improperly.
“The pressure washer is very powerful,” Edwards said. “If you don’t use the right technique or have the right tip on, you can have damage.”
That makes the proper approach to exterior house washing particularly important when cleaning siding, painted areas and other surfaces requiring additional care.
A quieter, cleaner approach
JE Pressure Washing also takes an environmentally conscious approach to its work.
Edwards said he avoids chemicals whenever possible and uses a high-powered electric pressure washer, reducing noise and eliminating exhaust from a gasoline-powered machine.
“The customers love it,” he said.
Edwards also takes precautions to keep wash water away from storm drains. When necessary, he can use sandbags and a Shop-Vac to contain and recover water that might otherwise enter the drainage system.
For a business providing North County pressure washing in coastal communities, Edwards considers that part of doing the job responsibly.
When you call, you get Jarrod
JE Pressure Washing is a small, owner-operated local business, and Edwards considers personal service one of its biggest advantages.
“When you work with us, you’re friends and family,” Edwards said. “With a big company, you’re an account number and a service call.”
Born and raised in Encinitas, Edwards has volunteered at American Legion Post 416, serving breakfast to veterans and their families. He has also offered his services to local churches as another way to give back.
“I like helping people and making things look beautiful, and my services do exactly that,” Edwards said.
Along with pressure washing, JE Pressure Washing offers painting, handyman work, property maintenance, window and gutter cleaning, junk removal, general cleanup and help moving items. Pressure washing and painting remain the company’s primary focus.
Free estimates are available by phone, text or email. In some cases, Edwards can provide an estimate after reviewing photographs of the area. Service bundles are also available for customers tackling several projects at once.
Customers can expect a call back within a couple of hours, and in most cases can get service within a couple of days.
