COAST CITIES — Actors’ Conservatory Theatre – San Diego held a Showcase Performance to benefit The Arc of San Diego Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. The show starred young performers singing melodies from Broadway musicals, performed in groups, duets and solos. The show is directed by ACT – San Diego’s Artistic Director Leigh Scarritt at the Sherwood Auditorium at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, in La Jolla.
North County youngsters who starred in the show include Blue Schroeder of Carlsbad, Natalie Allen of Del Mar, Lily Detwiler and Kaleigh Stegman of Encinitas, Kyra Heenan and Sarah Nicita of Rancho Santa Fe, and Marissa Lebert, Mason Mercer and Torrey Mercer of Solana Beach.
ACT – San Diego is a new theater company for young people. ACT’s mission is to provide educational and artistic opportunities to young actors to perform in a safe yet professional environment. ACT produces youth theatre productions of the highest quality with a production staff led by all-pro directors, and choreographers.
The Arc of San Diego has been providing services to people with disabilities and their families since 1951.
