Three teens injured when pickup crashes in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE — Two teenage girls and a teenage boy were injured early Tuesday when the pickup they were in crashed into the yard of a home in Oceanside, authorities said.

The vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, was traveling south on Pacific Street at an estimated 65 mph shortly before 2 a.m. when it failed to negotiate a left turn at Eaton Street and crashed onto private property, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

All the vehicle’s occupants were 17 years old and sustained injuries, the statement said. One occupant was taken to a trauma center and the other two were taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

Police said the driver was evaluated for driving under the influence and without a license. If investigators conclude the driver was under the influence, the case will be forwarded to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office for review, police added.
