CARLSBAD — Carlsbad Police Department will be offering a series of training classes for parents of difficult children — one geared for parents of children ages 11 and older in English, and a second for ages 5 to 10 in Spanish.
The Parent Project course starts Oct. 8 and will be held for 10 consecutive Wednesday nights at the Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Ave. This class is for the parents of children who consistently test limits, argue, break house rules or engage in dangerous, high-risk or self-destructive behaviors.
The Parent Project Junior/Loving Solutions training program is offered in Spanish to parents
of strong-willed children ages 5 to 10. Classes will be held for seven consecutive Wednesday nights also starting Oct. 8 at Jefferson Elementary School, 3743 Jefferson St.
Class fees are $25 per individual or $35 per couple; there is no cost for military families. To register for
either class, or for more
information, contact Carlsbad Police Department’s Greater Understanding through Intervention Diversion, and Education office at (760) 931-2167 (English) or (760) 434-9099 (Spanish).
