OCEANSIDE – Detectives and officers of the Oceanside Police Department made an arrest Friday in the murder of a 22-month-old toddler, who was killed two days earlier on Sept. 10. Detectives arrested Veronica Rivas, the mother of the child. Rivas, 28, confessed to drowning her son, according to police.
She was taken into custody at Tri-City Medical Center and transported to the Oceanside Police Department, where she will be booked on a murder charge. The investigation is continuing and other charges may be pending.
