CARLSBAD — A 67-year-old Carlsbad man was killed Monday after a traffic collision near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Marron Road, according to a press release from the city.

The accident occurred at 5:19 p.m. when a 51-year-old Carlsbad motorist struck the victim, who was crossing the street. The man was walking from the east side of Jefferson Street to the west side, while the motorist drove south on the Jefferson Street bridge.

The victim died at the scene and his identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
