Bicyclist killed in collision in Black Mountain Ranch

SAN DIEGO — A cyclist was killed after being struck by the driver of a 2015 Volkswagen EOS while riding in the Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.

San Diego Police Department officers were called at 6:49 p.m. on Nov. 22 to Camino Del Sur and Casey Glen, where they learned a 50-year-old woman was driving a Volkswagen west on Camino Del Sur in the No. 2 lane and crossed the intersection of Casey Glen.

For unknown reasons, the driver suddenly veered into the bike lane and collided with the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Alcohol was determined not to have been a factor in the collision, according to police.
