COAST CITIES — The Women’s Auxiliary for Rady Children’s Hospital extends an invitation to join its group of members from all over North County. The group is looking for new members who are interested in donating time and talents to help raise funds for all aspects of Rady Children’s Hospital to benefit children throughout San Diego County. The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at the First Methodist Church 341 Kalmia St., Escondido.
In 1953, the first meeting of the Women’s Auxiliary of Rady Children’s was held “to promote the welfare of Rady Children’s by interpretation of the Hospital to the public, through service to the Hospital and its patients, and through fundraising in a manner satisfactory to the hospital governing board and in harmony with the planning of the community.” In 2009, the Auxiliary raised more than $5 million.
