Woman drives car into 7-Eleven

SAN MARCOS — An investigation is continuing into the Dec. 2 crash that seriously injured a customer when a female motorist plowed through the glass of a convenience store for unknown reasons.
The crash happened at the 7-Eleven store located at the intersection of San Marcos Boulevard and Rancho Santa Fe at about 11 p.m., according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy Tammy Bennetts.
She said the customer, Carlos Martinez, was inside the store when the Mercury Grand Marquis crashed into it.
Martinez was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious head trauma, and updates of his condition have yet to be made available.
The driver of the car, Teresa Peterson of San Marcos, was not injured in the crash, according to Bennetts.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash or if Peterson has been cited.
The store was roped-off and closed for business Dec. 3 while nearly a dozen people worked at repairing damages, some of which included broken water lines and a damaged back wall, according to the store’s owners who were on site.
