ENCINITAS — Olivenhain Municipal Water District, in partnership with San Dieguito Water District, is holding a free series of water-efficient landscape workshops for landscape professionals.
The first of workshop will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive in Encinitas. Reserve seats now by calling (760) 632-4236 or by visiting olivenhain.com/events.
The subsequent workshops will continue on consecutive Tuesdays through Feb. 28.
This workshop series will be held primarily in English with a bi-lingual, Spanish-speaking instructor.
Attendees have the option of selecting a manual in English or Spanish.
Each workshop builds on principles presented in the preceding workshop, but prior attendance is not required for subsequent workshops.
Students begin with basic irrigation principles and conclude with irrigation scheduling.
This workshop series will cover irrigation principles, adjustments and repair, irrigation system troubleshooting, controller programming and irrigation scheduling.
The focus of water conservation is now on outdoor water use efficiency because more than 60 percent of residential water is used on landscape.
