CARLSBAD — The annual Walk/Run Fundraiser for the Lagoons takes off early July 22, with specified courses at all three Carlsbad lagoons and an after-Walk/Run celebration at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center, 1580 Cannon Road.The family event, created to celebrate Carlsbad’s coastal community and preserve and educate future lagoon stewards, will incorporate scenic walk/run courses at all three Carlsbad lagoons – Agua Hedionda, Batiquitos and Buena Vista. It winds up with a barbecue lunch provided by Tip Top Meats, awards and presentations at The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center, 1580 Cannon Road.
Hollywood television celebrities will be on hand to show their support for our lagoons and include event “host” Christopher Knight who played “Peter” on “The Brady Bunch,” Sean Astin of “The Lord of the Rings” and “Rudy” fame.
