Top in law enforcement honored

COAST CITIES — Carlsbad Police Corporal Adam Young, Oceanside Police Detective Marilyn Johnson and San Diego County Sheriff’s Cpl. James Breneman, Jr. will receive the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award from their peers at the Law Enforcment Recognition Night July 23.

 

The event begins at 6 p.m. at the San Diego Scottish Rite Center, 1895 Camino Del Rio South, in Mission Valley.

Chief Shelley Zimmerman of the San Diego Police Department will be the keynote speaker. Peace officers from the 16 San Diego County law enforcement agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, the San Diego District Attorney’s office and Harbor Police, will be honored for service above and beyond the call of duty. The event is open to the public and held to recognize outstanding law enforcement and show support for the men and women who put their lives on the line every day. In addition, the evening will feature classic police vehicles on display.
