Cardiff-by-the-Sea was founded in 1911 so it was only 2 years old when forward thinking people knew they needed a library. It was Christmas Eve, 1913 when 38 residents gathered in S.M. (Solomon) Holbrooks grocery to make application for a library.
Cardiff-by-the-Sea had the good fortune to become the home of Cardiff Seaside Market in 1985 when John and Pete Najjar opened their 12,500 square foot store in the Cardiff Town Center.
Carpentier Parkway, the linear strip along San Elijo Avenue from Chesterfield to Liverpool, is well known to all but perhaps not so well known is Horticulturist Linda Lee, Quality Plantscapes, the person who keeps it eternally beautiful.
