VISTA — On Jan. 14 at approximatley 7 a.m., an unknown male approached a 14-year-old female student of Vista High School as she was walking to school in the area north of 1300 E. Indian Rock Road. The male grabbed the female and struck her in the face while ordering her to remove her pants. As two other high school students approached, the male stopped the attack and fled on foot. The male is described as 17 to 23 years of age, white or Hispanic, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9, 150 to 170 pounds with hazel eyes. He was described as wearing blue jeans and a brown hooded sweatshirt. The victim sustained a bloody nose and minor contusions to her face. Anyone with information or similar experiences is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200. A composite sketch is being prepared and will be released upon completion. Sheriff’s Sexual Assault Unit detectives are handling the investigation.
