OCEANSIDE — The North County Film Club, in association with UltraStar Theaters, will present a series of 10 independent and foreign-language movies over a period of six months, with all showings at 4 p.m. beginning Feb. 21 at the Ultrastar Mission MarketPlace Theater, 431 College Blvd.
The series will run through July 11, featuring a new film two Sundays each month. A season pass can be purchased for all 10 movies for $40 and includes a regular size popcorn at each film. Five-film packs are available for $25 and individual tickets may be purchased at $7 each. Tickets and passes may be purchased at the theater box office.
The series begins Feb. 21 with the romantic comedy “Outsourced.”
An Oscar nominee yet to be chosen will show March 7. The “Kite Runner” will show March 21.
“Big Fish” will screen March 28. April 11 features “The Visitor.” “The Fall” will be shown April 18. On May 2 will be “Transamerica.” “Afghan Star” will be shown May 16. “TransSiberian” is on tap June 6 and “The Lookout” will screen June 20.
The North County Film Club was founded in the fall of 2008. For more than a year, it has been presenting independent, foreign and limited-release films to interested North County film lovers. First in private homes and then onto the Oceanside Mission Branch Library, North County filmgoers have been gathering to watch and discuss these fascinating films. Now the club is bringing these independent, foreign and limited release films to the big screen for all to enjoy.
