The San Diego-Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of America recently conducted its six-day adult training course in advanced leadership skills, Wood Badge for the 21st Century. Eight of the 51 participants are North County residents. Course staff members from Santa Margarita Boy Scout District included Wood Badge Scoutmaster and Course Director Bob Dixon from Oceanside, Quartermaster George McMahon from Oceanside, and Troop Guide Jon Studer from Oceanside. The Boy Scouts will be observing their 100th Anniversary in 2010, with a full year of special events scheduled to help celebrate their commitment to youth and service to the community.
