RANCHO SANTA FE — The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club is hosting its second annual “RSF Garden Fair & Market” which inspired and connected its community members last year. According to the Garden Club, they are one of several community service-oriented organizations that help unite its residents.
“The RSF Garden Fair & Market provides an opportunity for the whole community to participate in an event offering information that is relative to each one of us while celebrating what the Garden Club is passionate about — activities that promote charitable horticulture and conservation,” said Erin Browne, executive director of the RSF Garden Club.
Slated for Sept. 10, the RSF Garden Club decided to trim down the event to a total of three hours so they are recommending members to arrive early. Browne shared that many of the vendors who took part in the event last year are returning once again.
“There are many new vendors attending this year with a variety of horticulture inspired items to share and sell,” she said. “We are excited to have Dragon Organics attending this year, who will be selling local organic produce at the event.”
Browne said the day would celebrate all things horticulture. Vendors on hand will include irrigation specialists, landscape design, plant sales, rain water barrel display, gifts from the garden, and horticulture inspired décor, accessories and jewelry.
The RSF Garden Club is also brewing up some family fun with kid-friendly plans and activities. Brown said on site families will find a RSF Fire engine, portable gardening beds to dig in, a Fairy Garden corner, arts and crafts, face painter, music and Hawaiian ice.
Browne also extended thanks to its sponsors which include Merrill Lynch; Rancho Santa Fe Connect — brought to you by Fision, Fiber Optics by Hotwire; San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum; Santa Fe Irrigation District; and, Chicweed Patio & Garden.
“We appreciate the generous sponsors whose contributions allow us to offer this event for free,” she said.
While this event draws the community together it also supports this nonprofit. The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club has a longstanding history dating back to 1926. It officially became a nonprofit California corporation in 1937.
“Funds secured from the event help support our grant program, which, in less than two years, has awarded $100,000 to nonprofit organizations in need of funding for horticulture projects. The RSF Garden Fair & Market is the Garden Club’s ‘give back’ to the community,” she said.
Rancho Santa Fe Garden Fair & Market will be held Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the RSF Association parking lot located at 17022 Avenida de Acacias. For more information please visit rsfgardenclub.org.
