CARLSBAD — A black male adult suspect entered the Pita Pit located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive No. 120 on April 20 at 8 p.m., brandished a pistol, pointed it at the employee and demanded the money from the cash registers. The employee complied and was ordered to lie on the ground. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., Carlsbad Police officers stopped the suspect vehicle on southbound I-5 at La Costa Avenue with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol.
Anna Olivieri was the driver of the vehicle and was arrested. The male suspect was last seen running in the area of Vulcan south of La Costa Avenue. An extensive search of the area with the assistance of San Diego Sheriff’s deputies and the San Diego Police Department helicopter ABLE was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Olivieri was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for robbery, commercial burglary and conspiracy. Her bail was set at $50,000. This investigation is ongoing in an attempt to identify, locate and arrest the outstanding suspect.
