OCEANSIDE — An online auction featuring fine jewelry, original artworks, sports memorabilia and various experiences was launched at www.ccigolf.org to raise funds for Oceanside-based Canine Companions for Independence.
Canine Companions is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. Canine Companions provides assistance dogs, training and ongoing follow-up services to adults and children with physical and developmental disabilities completely free of charge.
The online auction is a pre-holiday season shopping opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind items. Sports fans can browse a catalog of autographed memorabilia or bid on a Maui vacation, MVP field level tickets to a Los Angeles Dodgers home game or a week at La Costa Resort & Spa, a tandem skydive or a helicopter ride for two.
The online auction is part of the Canine Companions Invitational Golf Classic and Celebration Dinner which will be held Oct. 29 at the St. Regis in Dana Point. All proceeds from the event, including the auction, will benefit Canine Companions. Those who do not play golf can still support Canine Companions by purchasing tickets for the dinner.
