Hartman replaces Carol Van Vooren, who resigned to serve as a professor in the Educational Administration Department at Cal State San Marcos. Hartman joined Carlsbad Unified in 1997 as a teacher at Kelly Elementary. She was selected as the District’s Teacher of the Year in 2001. In 2002, she moved to Calavera Hills Elementary and Middle schools.
