ENCINITAS — The San Dieguito Art Guild will host a chain maille jewelry demonstration by Pennie Stavast from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 7 at the San Diego Botanic Garden, Ecke Building, 230 Quail Gardens Drive.
Reservations can be made by calling Katie Jablonski at (760) 213-9773. Kits are available to early responders, but will require two sets of smooth-jaw pliers for creating chain maille.
The chain maille demonstration will include wire basics; chain maille basics; piercing metal for a unique focal piece; surface embellishments; and riveting with a cool new tool.
Discussions will cover where to find tools and reference books, reference websites and organizations.
The San Dieguito Art Guild owns and operates the Off Track Gallery located at 937 S. Coast Highway 101 in the Lumberyard Shopping Center.
