Love on the Rocks in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE — The Gallery at The Brooks has “It.” Harcourt Properties has “It.” Main Street has “It.”

On Feb. 6, between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m., Oceanside businesses with “It” will transform into glittering galleries for First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk’s “Love on the Rocks” – themed, free, family-friendly monthly art walk.

Highlights include work by February’s featured artist, Marilyn Huerta, at Main Street Association, 701 Mission Ave. and an artist’s reception for Lisa Bebi at The Gallery at The Brooks, 217 N. Coast Highway. Bebi will also be giving a free demonstration during the event.

Harcourt Properties, 804 Pier View Way, is hosting music by the Nodes and art from TERI, Inc. At the Oceanside Museum of Art, 704 Pier View Way, teenager Carley Woods will create a landscape scene with oil paint on a mirror. Participants will be able to take a selfie in an already-created oil painting — rocks included. An unveiling of a community-created art piece will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Main Street Association where those who participated in our FF: OAW November walk will be able to enjoy a work of art that includes their individual creations.

Maps with locations of all of the “It” galleries, including the Oceanside Museum of Art and The Oceanside Civic Library are available at each art location.

Artists and businesses wishing to become part of FF: OAW 2015 may go to oceansideartwalk.org and submit a request found on the home page.

March’s First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk will be themed “Zen of a Woman” with featured artist, Ruth Jameson.
