ENCINITAS – The seventh annual LeucadiART Walk showcased the talents of area artists Aug. 28 to the delights of art patrons. Several bands performed along the mile-long stretch of artisan booths, including a portion of the “Surfing Madonna” on display with artist Mark Patterson talking about his creation and what went in to the making of it. The entire event was free to the public and put on through the efforts of the Leucadia 101 Main Street Association.

Many thanks to everyone who came down to the Leucadia Art Walk yesterday! It was a wonderful event – and what a great community we have of such talented artists, musicians, and other vendors and performers!
I also really appreciated all the support people offered for the ideas about re-locating the "Save the Ocean" mosaic – aka The Surfing Madonna. It might take awhile, but she’ll be back!
