CARLSBAD — Do all the ballot options make your eyes cross? Do you value being able to vote on policy and laws?The League of Women Voters of San Diego and North County San Diego and California Common Cause will sponsor a free public forum from 2 to 3:30 pm Jan. 25 at the Dove Library, 1775 Dove Lane.
The theme of the event is to discuss the Initiative and Referendum process. The league will host Thad Kousser, Political Science Professor at UCSD; Joe Mathews, commentator and author of “California Crack-up;” Glenn Smith, professor of Law, California Western School of Law; and Robert Stern, former president of the California Center for Governmental Studies, to discuss the role of money, influence, technology, the courts, and the legislature in California’s initiative process.
