SAN MARCOS — The first annual North County Intergenerational Games will take place at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos between the San Marcos Senior Center and Twin Oaks Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29.
The goal of the Intergenerational Games is to bring young and old together to encourage teamwork, mutual understanding and respect through activities that promote a healthier community. Teams of one student and one active older adult are partnered for the entire event. The event begins with an opening ceremony, activity stations for participants including races, soccer, nutrition and health trivia. The event ends with all participants enjoying lunch together followed by a medal ceremony.
