OCEANSIDE — Oceanside police responded to a CPR in progress call on the evening of Sept. 10 to find a 22-month-old male infant in need of resuscitation.
Upon arrival at the residence in the 300 block of Woodpark Way police continued CPR until firefighter paramedics arrived and took over lifesaving efforts.
The infant ultimately died at the scene.
The 28-year-old mother was found unconscious and unresponsive in a downstairs room.
She was attended to by firefighter paramedics and transported to Tri City Medical Center.
A death investigation is being conducted.
There was no forced entry. It has not been disclosed who made the call to police or started CPR on the infant.
Currently there is no update on the mother’s condition, or further details of the incident.
