CARLSBAD — Hospice of the North Coast held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration June 23. The event honored the volunteers serving HNC in patient care, auxiliary, resale shop, administrative and board capacities. Together, the scores of volunteers contribute hundreds of hours of annual service.
“As a nonprofit hospice providing care and support to terminally ill patients and their families throughout North County, we heavily rely upon and greatly appreciate our volunteers,” HNC Director of Volunteer Services Judith Miller said. “They fill key roles in every facet of our organization. Their dedication enables us to continue our many supportive programs at the highest level.”
The celebration featured an Americana theme with guests dressed in red, white and blue. The Fabulous Earrings, a local singing group, performed patriotic songs.
The nonprofit HNC was established in 1980 to fill the need for comprehensive, compassionate hospice care in North County. HNC hosts fundraising events, operates a family support camp and resale shop, and maintains a cadre of volunteers.
