ENCINITAS — Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a romantic guitar concert by the Peter Pupping Band. The event is set for 8 p.m., Feb. 14 at La Paloma Theatre, 471 S. Coast Highway 101. The cost is $20 for general admission available at www.lapalomatheatre.com.
The concert will featuring a selection of nuevo flamenco, bossa, samba, Cuban Latin jazz, and contemporary music, in the style of the Gypsy Kings, The Buena Vista Social Club, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Carlos Santana. The ensemble will include Encinitas resident Peter Pupping and William Wilson on guitar, Allan Phillips on keyboard, Jeff Basile on bass, Roy Gonzales on percussion and Kevin Koch on drums.
The Pupping Band combines many forms of Latin music ranging from tender melodies to rhythmic dances. Besides a strong Latin influence, the band will also perform hit songs by contemporary artists like Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson, and will cover Beatles and other tunes.
