CARLSBAD — A 13-year-old girl who was walking her dog around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 in the 5100 block of Frost Avenue in Carlsbad told police she observed a black full sized pick up following her. She reported she became nervous, and began to walk a little faster. The truck also sped up, at which time the victim began to run. The passenger in the vehicle then exited and began chasing after the victim.
The victim ran to the front yard of a residence and ran toward the front door looking for help. Once the victim left the sidewalk, the suspect ran back to the truck. The truck executed a U-turn and left the area traveling westbound on Frost Avenue.
The driver was described by the victim as a Hispanic male with medium skin tone, and wearing a dark colored shirt. The passenger was described by the victim as a Hispanic male in his early 40s, 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build and black or brown braided hair. He was wearing a black baseball hat, black T-shirt and blue jeans. He had a slight accent when he spoke rapidly and his voice was a low pitch.
Carlsbad residents are strongly encouraged to immediately report any similar suspicious activity to the Carlsbad Police Dispatch Center at (760) 931-2197.
