COAST CITIES — Love the game of football and want to give back to the youth of San Diego County? Want a part-time hobby that also pays? San Diego County Football Officials Association is looking for new referees.
Sign-ups are now underway for the 2014 football season. Interested participants are invited to instructional classes that start at 7 p.m. July 9 at West Hills High School, 8756 Mast Blvd., Santee.
As a first year official, you will be refereeing youth Pop Warner and AYF on Saturdays with the chance to move up to high school games by the end of the season. No experience is necessary, just a love of the game of football.
There are currently four former members of SDCFOA that have gone on to work as officials in the National Football League.
