Last month the city of Carlsbad received their third fine from the Regional Water Quality Control Board for water quality violations — the poorest record of any North County city. Now they appear to be planning another project that will damage a local creek and our coastal waters — Palomar Commons (Lowe’s store) at Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real (they are creating a new zoning category to push it through). The residents of Carlsbad care about our local creeks, beaches and coast. I only wish the city of Carlsbad cared as much.
