OCEANSIDE — As the employment rates rise and families find themselves without health insurance, more North County residents are turning to Vista Community Clinic for medical care. To raise funds to support their work, Vista Community Clinic is throwing its fourth annual Spring Fling with two sittings at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 4 at Outback Steakhouse, 2485 Vista Way.
“Everyone is at risk for losing their health insurance at some point in their life, now more than ever,” said Barbara Mannino, chief executive officer for the clinic. “We depend on community support to provide care to the children and families in North County. The Spring Fling is a great way to have an affordable outing with your family or friends while donating to a worthy cause as well.”
Janice Koehler, manager of The Outback Steakhouse in Oceanside, will host the event.
Local youth will be on site selling desserts to raise money for Project REACH, an after school program that works to reduce teen pregnancy and youth violence in Oceanside and Vista.
Vista Community Clinic is a private nonprofit provider of comprehensive primary health care and health education with a focus on those in need because of economic, social or cultural barriers.
