Conference to discus Proposition 227

SAN MARCOS — “Proposition 227 and Beyond: Connecting Research, Policy, and Practice” will be held Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at the San Diego County Office of Education, located at 255 Pico Avenue in San Marcos. Sponsored by the Institute for Language and Education Policy, in partnership with Cal State San Marcos and the San Diego County Office of Education, “Proposition 227 and Beyond” will bring educators and advocates from all levels together to review the impact of California’s anti-bilingual initiative ten years later. Conference goals include formulating specific concrete steps and action plans to address the ongoing policy and practice needs for English learners, as well as disseminating research on the best practices and instructional outcomes in the 10 years since Proposition 227 was implemented in California.
