RANCHO SANTA FE — The Community Concerts of Rancho Santa Fe presented its first concert of the New Year when Pavlo and his band performed at the Fellowship Hall of the Rancho Santa Fe Village Church on Jan. 21.
During the recital performance, Pavlo and his talented musicians performed
a variety of Mediterranean melodies. A master at guitar, Pavlo has been performing since the age of 5 with his father serving as mentor. Throughout the years he has remained true to his Greek roots and his music reflects the Grecian influence.
Pavlo is currently touring all over North America. “I’m currently wrapping up an 85-city U.S. Tour,” he said prior to his performance. “I have six cities left.” After Rancho Santa Fe, he will perform next in El Cajon. “This means I have two nights in the same hotel. Two nights! That’s a luxury in this business.”
“I have been performing 200 shows per year. I really enjoy going into new markets like this one in Rancho Santa Fe,” Pavlo said. “It’s an incredible experience. I have six CDs now and people recognize me from the PBS show I did. I hope the people of Rancho Santa Fe enjoy the event.”
And from the response the show received, they did, indeed. After the performance was over, Pavlo’s work was not yet done. He performed again at the home of one of the sponsors. Donors who offer $300 or more are invited to a post concert party where the performer does an encore. But Pavlo is used to doing command performances. “In 2001, I was selected to perform for His Royal Highness, Prince Charles.” Not bad for an up and coming artist.
The next Community Concert is scheduled for March 4. The Presidio Brass will be performing at the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club. For more information, contact Jan Clark at (858) 756-4000.
