VISTA — January is recognized as Mentoring Month. Vista Community Clinic invites you to make a difference in the lives of local youth by becoming a mentor in the Step Up program. Step Up stands for Success, Truth, Education, Positive, Understanding and Powerful, all important components of mentoring.
The Step Up Program focuses on the education and empowerment of youth. Potential mentors include college students, professionals and community members willing to positively impact a teen’s life. Mentors must be 20 or older to apply.
For more information about the benefits of being a mentor and the application process, contact Walter Robles, coordinator, Step Up Mentoring Program Office, at (760) 631-5000, ext. 7143, or Maria Yanez, program manager, Youth Development Program Office, at (760) 631-5000, ext. 7140.
