DEL MAR — The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Pacific South Coast Chapter has announced that San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner, a resident of Del Mar, will be honorary chairman for the National MS Society’s 17th annual MS Golf Invitational.
The fundraising tournament will begin at 10 a.m. May 2, at the La Jolla Country Club, 7301 High Ave. It will be Turner’s third consecutive year as honorary chair of the fundraiser. Turner is also a member of the National MS Society’s board of trustees.
Cost to play in the fundraiser is $750 per person or $3,000 for a foursome, which includes green fees, cart, tee prizes, gift bag, raffle prizes, lunch, snacks, beverages, a hosted reception, player awards and after-golf awards dinner. Player spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Donations of merchandise and professional services for an opportunity drawing and live auction are welcomed. For more information, visit GolfMS.org or contact Angela Northrup at (760) 448-8434.
The tournament will raise funds for MS research at local institutions and programs and services for people with MS, a chronic, unpredictable and disabling disease of the central nervous system with no known cause, cure or prevention.
