CARLSBAD — After a decade on State Street, Carlsbad British Motorcars has expanded to its new 10,000-square-foot facility, 500 yards south, still on State Street at 2598 State St., and is now one of the North County’s largest factory-trained independent British specialists.

On hand for the day were guests including vendors San Diego Motoring and RJ’s Upholstery, and some of the finest area British motor car classics including a Mini Cooper and Aston Martin, owned by Jaguar Club President Stick Holmes, an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish owned by Bob Jackson and Kevin Beatty’s Jaguar 1997 XK8.
Dee & Kevin Searson showed their Jaguar 140 and 1970 Jaguar XKE along with Randy Smith’s silver 2009 Jaguar XF and 2001 JaguarXK8, plus a classic Rolls Royce Silver Spur, owned by Klaus Reichardt.
The new facility offers state-of-the-art factory diagnostics and specialty tools, a large parts department from 1949 to present, rental vehicles and 24-recovery service. They honor all aftermarket warranties, manage and oversee insurance body repairs and offer experienced partners that specialize in upholstery/headliner repairs, tires and custom factory wheels, dent removal and windscreen replacement.
In the coming months, Carlsbad British Motorcars will be opening up its new facility for local Car Club events and will host informational/instructional classes. The goal of owners Tyrone and Liz Flower goal is to educate the customer and provide a forum for the enthusiast. They are also looking forward to becoming licensed to specialize in British smog testing.
