Brewfest brings local flavors to Encinitas

ENCINITAS — BrewFest Encinitas, featuring a wide variety of San Diego’s craft brewers,
will be held from
4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 on the lawn with views of the San Elijo lagoon at the Mira Costa College San Elijo Campus, 3333 Manchester Ave., Cardiff-by-the-Sea.BrewFest Encinitas 2012 is sponsored by the Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club and will also feature live music by Gone Blonde. All profits go to Rotary charities, including the Encinitas Community Resource Center. Be sure to bring your ID. In addition, designated drivers will get free general admission available at the door or for $25 for designated drivers who want VIP tent access and benefits.

General admission tickets are $40, and can be gotten online at brewfestencinitas.com/eventinfo.php. General admission includes admission, 10 beer tastings, a five-ounce souvenir BrewFest Encinitas beer-tasting glass and free parking. Along with the designer brews, fairgoers can enjoy food from a variety of gourmet food trucks on site.

VIP tickets are also available for $65 and include extra benefits include VIP Tent access, exclusive premium beer tastings and gourmet food. Award-winning master brewer Jeff Bagby. an Encinitas native, will be on hand at the VIP tent to answer your questions and talk about beers and brewing. In his 15 years in the craft beer industry, Bagby has created premium beers for Stone, Pizza Port, Oggi’s and other breweries.
