ESCONDIDO — Stone Brewing is taking its beer to the next level.
More accurately, the craft brewer announced in a press release a partnership with Untitled Hospitality to develop Stone Hotel.
Expectations are for the hotel to open in the first quarter of 2018 and will be constructed, owned and managed by Untitled Hospitality. It will be located on 13 acres of land adjacent to Stone Brewing’s headquarters in Escondido.
According to the brewer, an artistic display of beer flowing from a tap down to Citracado Parkway. In addition a gargoyle will be on display and Stone beers, obviously, will be readily available.
Archived special release beers and unique casks will be periodically available at a trio of on-site bars.
Upon check in, guest may receive a complimentary beer and an in-room growler delivery service.
“You can’t rush a good thing,” said co-founder Greg Koch. “After originally envisioning a hotel on the property more than six years ago, we had put the project on permanent hold due to our need to focus on our core obsession of brewing.”
The hotel is estimated to cost $26 million with 100,000 square feet. Paul Basile of Basile Studio in San Diego will take charge of the interior design.
In addition, the hotel will feature a bar-style lobby check-in, oversized guest rooms, 99 rooms and six suites. Other highlights include an 8,000 square-foot ballroom, 10,000 square-foot rooftop garden adjacent to the pool deck and nearly an acre of outdoor event space.
“When Robert (Cartwright) and Untitled Hospitality approached us with the idea of them taking the ball and running with it, we found a partner who was fully engaged in the idea of executing on the Stone ideals, ethos and creativity,” Koch added. “I can’t wait to give our fans this amazing extension of the Stone experience.”
