SOLANA BEACH — Local author, Keith Meldahl, returns to the Solana Beach Library to speak about his new book, “Rough-Hewn Land: A Geological Survey from California to the Rocky Mountains” at 6:30 Sept. 11 at the library, 157 Stevens Ave.As part of Solana Beach Library’s Friends Night Out program, the Friends of the Library are hosting the event. The book takes readers on a field trip from the Bay Area to the Rockies and offers a guide to the settlement of the West. Meldahl is a geology and oceanographic professor at Mira Mesa College.
