This year’s event is presented by Notes for Needs, a non‐profit startup run by Chris Mazzola and Jason York. Notes for Needs seeks to organize benefit shows and release albums in support of other non‐profit organizations as well as individuals stricken with financial hardships due to medical, funeral or other unexpected costs.

“We’ve been hosting Punk Rock Food Drive for a while now and we’ve seen the impact that it has. Our supporters and attendees are creating meals for people who need them where there was nothing before. It’s such a simple yet powerful trade off,” York said.

Mazzola added, “I want this year to be the most successful Punk Rock Food Drive yet. I’m excited that Feeding America has agreed to match donations. That’s going to have a major impact on the success of this event. We’re also hoping for more engagement with individuals and groups who’d like to volunteer. There are so many wonderful people in this community who are eager to help and may just need to be shown what they can do. We encourage anyone who is interested in this event. Tell someone about the food drive. Contact us and find out how you can help. Your involvement means more meals raised for hungry people here in North County. What we do for others, we do for ourselves.”
