OCEANSIDE — American Legion Post 146 is hosting its annual picnic, complete with horseshoes, basketball, softball, pedal boats, row boats and motor boats, fishing and miniature golf, from 11 a.m. to dusk Sept. 9 at Lake O’Neill on Camp Pendleton.The day is free for American Legion members and $5 for guests. Picnickers are asked to bring a side dish to feed 8 to 10 people. The post will provide the main course,
drinks and beer. Food will be served from noon to 5 p.m.
Entrance onto Camp Pendleton may require a current vehicle registration, ID and insurance. Department of Defense-approved vests are required for motorcycle riders. Seating is limited, so organizers suggest attendees bring lawn chairs and small tables. Sunscreen is recommended.
