Adopt a military family for the holidays

COAST CITIES — If you are looking for something special and personal to contribute this holiday season, consider adopting a military family through Operation Homefront.
Each year Operation Homefront holds several events to meet the needs of military families during the holiday season, providing food and gifts to a waiting list of recipients. Adopting a family means you will provide for a family through your donation. Donations beginning at $35 allow donors to sponsor one bag of food complete with all of the trimmings. If you are interested, contact [email protected] or call (866) 424- 5210. Details are also available at www.operationhomefront.net/socal where you can fill out a questionnaire indicating the location and size of family you would like to sponsor.
Operation Homefront volunteers will provide the gift bags laden with the makings of a holiday dinner which are then given to more than 1,000 families in December. Send all donations to Operation Homefront, P.O. Box 26747, San Diego, CA 92196 or visit www.operationhomefront.net/socal.
Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting U.S. services members and wounded warriors returning home, as well as their families. San Diego is the oldest and largest of 30 chapters nationwide and has helped more than 12,000 military families since its inception in February 2002 with emergency aid such as food, baby care items, vehicle donation and repair, computer donations, financial assistance during times of personal crisis, and social support during especially difficult deployments and holiday seasons.
