COAST CITIES — A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training series is being offered to the North County community in November at the Solana Beach Fire Station, 500 Lomas Santa Fe Drive.CERT is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. Because emergency services personnel will not be able to help everyone immediately, you can make a difference by using the CERT training to save lives and protect property.
From 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 6 will be orientation and disaster preparation. On Nov.9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be fire safety, search and rescue and cribbing. Nov.13, from 7 to 9 p.m., will focus on CERT organization, disaster psychology and terrorism. At the final sessions, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov.16 and 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 20, the training will cover disaster medical aid.
The final certification will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23 at Rancho Santa Fe Fire Station 2,16930 Four Gee Road, Rancho Santa Fe.
