CARLSBAD — The Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation (BLF) will hold a spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and an easy, docent-led wildflower hike along the north shore of the lagoon from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 13This is a new event for the BLF, with proceeds benefiting the BLF’s conservation and environmental education work. The plant sale features California natives and tropical orchids, and there will be experts on hand to answer questions on both native plants and orchids. There will be plenty of birds to see this time of year as well. There is no charge for the hike, and it is geared for all ages
Meet at the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation Nature Center at the end of Gabbiano Lane in Carlsbad. Take the Poinsettia Lane exit off of I-5 in Carlsbad and proceed east, making a right turn onto Batiquitos Drive. Gabbiano Lane is the first street on the right. Free parking is available.
