COAST CITIES — The Feeding the Soul Foundation celebrated its third, healthy birthday March 16. In the last three years, FTSF has planned and launched more than 50 events donating money, healthy food, school supplies, blankets, scholarships and animal food. For March Nutrition Awareness Month, the group has partnered up with Feeding America San Diego for a healthy-food drive. The community is invited to stop by Jitters Coffee Pub, 510 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside and drop off a “most needed” item before April 1. “Most needed” items include peanut butter (non-hydrogenated preferred), whole grain pasta, low-sodium pasta sauce, whole grain oats and cereal, brown rice, canned tuna and chicken in water, canned fruits in natural juices, canned vegetables in water, canned soup (low-sodium preferred), beans or lentils. No glass containers, please.
Through April 20, FTSF will be collecting Tenderness Totes items at Jitters Coffee Pub, as well. Tenderness Totes are small “survival packs” for the homeless. These pre-assembled tote bags contain food, water and toiletries and are designed to be stored in a vehicle and given, at a moment’s notice, to a person in need.
Small/travel-size items being collected include new tubes of toothpaste, new toothbrushes, new deodorant, new mouthwash, nutrition bars or bottled water

Tehya Tatiana Foussat helped create a non-profit, Tehyathon, that raises funds to increase awareness and support educational programs concerning Spina Bifida. Her secondary mission is to provide “Tenderness Totes” for the homeless or anyone in need.
The Tehyathon will be held at 2 p.m. April 21, with music and dancing at 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral Catholic High School, 5555 Del Mar Heights Road, San Diego.
Then FTSF will also join Surfrider’s Oceanside Beach Clean Up & Do-Gooder lunchtime from 9 to 11 a.m. June 1. Participants are asked to meet on the South side of the pier.
