OCEANSIDE — The Tri-City Healthcare District is accepting grant applications from nonprofit agencies serving residents of Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista. As it did last year, the district will award grants totaling $300,000. Excluded from consideration are other hospitals, hospital districts and government agencies. The grant requests must be for projects that promote the health and well-being of residents in the district, and that speak to the priorities identified by the Community Healthcare Alliance Committee, a committee of the Tri-City Healthcare District’s Board of Directors. Those priorities include reducing obesity, preventing diabetes and heart disease and managing and understanding mental health. Grants will be awarded in June.
Up to $100,000 of the $300,000 will be awarded to one or more projects that collaborate with Tri-City Medical Center to encourage innovative programs or new approaches that leverage existing networks and resources in creative ways.
Applications may be obtained from tricitymed.org/about-us/community-grants/.
Completed applications are due no later than March 29 and may be e-mailed to CHAC@tcmc.com or mailed to Tri-City Medical Center, TCHD Community Healthcare Alliance Committee, Public Affairs and Marketing Department, ATTN: Susan Paparella, 2095 W.
