Preschool holds recycle and shred event

ENCINITAS — Bring your unneeded papers and e-waste to the shred-a-thon and free e-waste drop-off fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at Bethlehem Community Preschool, 925 Balour Drive. This event will help raise funds to support the Bethlehem Community Preschool Scholarship Fund. Recommended donation for paper shredding is $5 per box or $20 for 5 boxes; hard-drive removal is $20 per hard drive; hard-drive destruction is $10 per hard drive. Documents will be shredded and computer hard drives will be punched and destroyed on-site at this event while you watch. Bring all confidential documents and computers that you would like securely destroyed. A Certificate of Destruction is available upon request. This can help prevent identity theft from documents getting into the wrong hands.Acceptable e-waste includes TVs, monitors, computers, LCD screens, CRT screens, plasma screens, laptops, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, computer towers, stereo systems, cellphones, speakers, telephones, uninterruptable power supply (UPS), VCR’s, DVD players, servers, power cords and cable strips.
